QEEG Assessment

The QEEG evaluates conditions, such as mild traumatic brain injury, ADHD, learning disabilities, epilepsy, and helps in designing protocols for treating conditions such as ADHD, trauma, autism, anxiety, depression, chronic pain and substance abuse. Using neurofeedback to help conditions has been scientifically documented to be successful with ADHD, closed head injuries, tourettes and addictions.

Brain mapping neurofeedback is the measurement through digital technology of axonal oscillatory patterns at the surface of the scalp, which primarily reflect cortical electrical activity or “brainwaves.” QEEG is one of the more reliable tests in demonstrating and quantifying white matter pathology. Since 1989 with the work of Thatcher, et. al. on mild head trauma, use of QEEG for accurate diagnosis has become routine. The work has been validated, replicated and reviewed in the literature by experts in refereed journals, meeting the strictest clinical standards in medicine.

Stress Assessment

The psychophysiological assessment measures brainwave activity, heart rate variability, sEMG (electromyography), thermal regulation, skin conductance and breathing rate. These modalities are measured continuously as the individual is psychologically stressed. This allows the practitioner to observe the client's physiological stress response.

Stress can increase your risk of heart attack, increase your vulnerability to anxiety, irritable bowl syndrome (IBS), fear, PTSD, and depression. Once we have a better understanding of what modalities are being effected by stress we can help self regulate with techniques such as biofeedback and other tools, such as EmWave, Inner Balance, and meditation, to use in your daily life that will reset the stress response.

Initial Assessment

A complete assessment includes:

  • Intake: Questionnaires and history taking

  • QEEG assessment (1 hour)

  • Biofeedback stress assessment, if necessary (1 hour)
